I'm a huge FF fan starting when I first played FFVII on playstation 1. Since then I've been hooked and I'm happy with the style of the games.

I started playing Dirge of Cerberus and I'm pretty dissapointed in the "enter the matrix" style of shoot-em-&-kill-em. Is this what the entire game is like? Does it become more interesting with a story line? Is it going to be anything at all like Final Fantasy games I'm used to?

I'd love to hear some thoughts and experiences with the game from other fans and how they would compare this game.

I am as well a HUGE Final Fantasy fan. The reason I love the games so much is mostly their powerful storylines. I've beaten Dirge of Cerberus, and I have to admit that it was not a very good game. Don't expect it to get much better, though there is a storyline event near the ending that is a strong shocker and twist. Also, near the ending, there are some pretty sad/intimite scenes as Vincent addresses his inner demon and the problems he's been having with Lucrecia.

The storyline can get somewhat strong near the end, as you would expect from any Final Fantasy game, but you can definetely see that they are capable of much more. Final Fantasy VII was probably the game (in my opinion) with the most powerful storyline, and I was hugely dissapointed at DOC, as it didn't nearly live up to Final Fantasy VII.

As far as the gameplay goes, I can guarantee you that you will be doing the same exact thing over and over. The game has no replay value. There are millions of hour's worth of extras, but they only give you stupid things and aren't nearly worth there effort, whereas the past FF games definetely had lots of replay value and were well worth their extra time.

As far as blunty answering your question, I wouldn't count on the game getting better at all, other than the fact that the storyline does gain strength once you reach the end. It will, at no point, be like the other Final Fantasy games you've played.

I'm a huge FF fan myself, and FFVII:DOC was a huge disappointment to me. What a shame, because Vincent is SUCH a cool character. We can only hope Square Enix sticks to RPGs for FF sequels from now on.

Well, you may want to go to www.gamefaqs.com and check out the page on this game. If you want to find out more about it from other fans, you could check out the message board they have. They usually have good information and that page is usually my 1# resource for all of my gaming info.
