I have many pounds of long hair and get horrendous headaches that have no seeming reason to get them. I can't find anything about this problem, does the weight of hair cause headaches??

I have long hair myself, and it used to weigh alot, even when I pulled my hair up, the weight from the ponytail did not help any.
The best thing you can do is call around barbers and see who actually thins hair by using a special pair of scissors.
That is how I had to lighten my hair weight without having to cut my hair off. The only downfall is for a like about two weeks, depending on how close they thin your hair to your roots, you will have small spikes in the top of your head.
It may sound silly to you, but it really isn't that bad, you can always have the barber thin your hair a little farther away from the top of your head too.
The scissors look like comb, that is how they thin your hair, by cutting off little bits of your hair without it even being noticable at all, other than the little spikes.

Yes, If you have long hair it can pull on your head, leaving you with a headache. I would consult a doctor to see if there are other possible causes. I had long, heavy hair and had many headaches and migraines, and I decided to cut my hair above my shoulders and it didn't make much of a difference in my headaches, but I didn't have to pull it up anymore when cooking and cleaning and such and that did alleviate some of the headaches.

It's somewhat true, I can't sleep with wet hair because it gives me really bad headaches but I know some people who don't get headaches at all from sleeping with wet hair. So I think if depends on the person. Sleeping with wet hair can also make you sick too if it's cold enough or cool air (like a fan or a breeze from a window) is blowing on you.
