Just be there for her, to listen, give a shoulder to cry on, and comfort her, letting her know all will be fine. Just be a good friend. Don't put him down or make judgments.
But if this guy is really bad news, as a good friend, help her to move on. Give her some advice on how he may bring her down with him. She deserves much better than that. Help her in the transition.

Tell her be glad his Mom is teaching him to GROW UP and take responsibility for his actions. It is time for your friend to GROW UP and accept the fact that this is reality and to save knock off the Drama Queen "crushed heart" stuff. It makes mature people what to blow chunks.
If he goes to the slammer, he will be out eventually.

l would let her know that l'm there for her if she needs to talk...it's hard to just say that everything is going to be alright. If at all possible l would also try to help her take her mind off of things if only for a moment...laughter is good medicine...
