I don't think of it as "slaving" over a hot stove. I think of it as showing love for my family.
Now in my grandmother's day when a stove was heated by wood or coal, it really was a "hot" stove. She had to get up before anyone else to get the stove heated up so she could cook the meals. Now a days it is a "cool" stove even when on. lol
