I'm Trying To Impress My Girlfreind Parents, Help?

Just remember your manners and have total respect for your girlfriend and the family. Be yourself and show a sense of humor but don't overdo it. If you are going for dinner, it would be nice to bring a small dessert or appetizer that you pick up from somewhere, also.

Parents want to know that the young man who is interested in their daughter will treat her well. When you meet them, treat your g/f with respect. Don't hang on her. Talk to her parents about your hobbies, your plans...make sure you have a plan for your future (career plans, not relationship plans). I know this sounds very old fashioned, but parents are always parents and want the best for their kids. Besides, you want to impress on them that you are not like many of the other young men they hear about. Above all...be sincere, don't try to snow them. The dad will spot it a mile away.

If you want to impress them, be yourself. Don't try to be something your not. Carry on a conversation with them, show them that your human. I think you should worry more about being yourself than TRYING to impress them. They wind up thinking your a little cocky or a know it all. Just be you, if you are good enough for the girl, they will accept you.

I don't know how old you guys are but the one thing that every parent I know of (including my own) looks for in their son/daughters friends/signifigant others is conversation. Just talk to them. It puts them at ease that you're not sneaky or trying to hide something.

Be polite. Have a firm, warm, handshake. Look them in the eye when they are speaking. Obey their rules. Have good table manners. Do more listening than talking. Ask questions--if you get stuck, remember the acronym F.O.R.M--family (where did they grow up? what do they value the most about family?) , occupation (what do they like best about work? what is most interesting?), recreation (what do they like to do in their free time?), and motivation (listen for cues that tell you what they value most and maybe ask about it!)

But mostly, you will impress them if you are confident (but not cocky) and respectful of their daughter.

just act really nice...oh and DO NOT TOUCH HER! hehehe trust meim a girl with parents who arent even that strict. you can give her a peck on the cheek, hold her around the shoulder or hold her hand but thats about it. dont like put your hand on her leg or something. Be nice to them, but not way too nice, they will know you are faking it just to impress them and won't trust you. Also be sure to be polite and pull the chair out for their daughter and hold the door open and stuff! :D
