Diversity isn't really that important to me. I think if you are an individual that is cool and all but what really matters to me is that you are doing what you truely love. As long as you are being completely true to yourself thats all that matters and if there are other people who are like you or have the same passions as you have thats awesome to. Just remember do what YOU really love, not what you are told to like.

Define what you mean by diversity.
If you mean participation in society of all people all races, all gender orientation, all able bodied and disabled person, all religions, all socioeconomic classes, then yes I think diversity has a role of opening up society so that we can cut down the barriers between us.
In theory diversity should contribute to us being more tolerant and able to see the world from others points of view. Being societal underdogs would be less as people would get to know individuals rather than just societal groups and see that we have more in common than we do differences. We would treat one another with more dignity and respect and have less self-esteem problems.

Diversity in population is a very good thing because it exposes you to people with different and interesting customs, cultural values, perspectives on life, not to mention foods and clothing styles.Where would we be without pizza or sushi or fajitas not to mention chinese food. Seriously, diversity is the spice of our national life but as with many things it can also lead to misundertandings, considering this we do a very good job of living in this melting pot . I am convinced that diversity has been and will continue to be an strength to this country.Every culture has contributed to make it what it is today.

Diversity is important to me because everyone having the same ideas about life and other thing can be very boring. Diversity is a rainbow where being a cookie cutter is bland.

As a Native American of the Navajo tribe, I say, YES. For most of the reasons many people have already listed. It's good to be different. I love who I am. I could not stand to be born with blond hair (not to be mean) but I love myself inside and out for being born a Native American. It helps me appreciate the many other people in life I've met, and plus, I love my culture and I embrace my traditions wholeheartedly. Wouldn't it be horrible for people to all look the same? I'll bet it would be.

Important to me because people of any kind of back ground can teach you so much from cooking, social behaviors, customs, style, and respect for the human race. You may never know who that person knows or what they can offer you in time of need. could be small or big.
