put an ice pack to prevent it from getting bruise and elevate the leg. put a bandage around the affected part to prevent from it from swelling. after 24 hrs. change from ice pack to warm pack to promote good and better circulation and little by little, try to rotate your ankle.

For a Grade 1 sprain, use R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression and elevation):


Rest your ankle by not walking on it.

Ice should be immediately applied. It keeps the swelling down. It can be used for 20 minutes to 30 minutes, three or four times daily. Combine ice with wrapping to decrease swelling, pain and dysfunction.

Compression dressings, bandages or ace-wraps immobilize and support the injured ankle.

Elevate your ankle above your heart level for 48 hours.

ice pack and elevate it have a seat and take a break. Tensor bandages are good to but, stay off of it is most important.

Rest your ankle, elevate your foot. If it gets better... no pain or no swelling you do not need to see a doctor.

Ice it but whatever you do dont take a warm bath for awhile, it makes it worse!
