You know people think that power is the best, you should look into using hand held PVC pipe cutter, they make a cleaner cut. If you use a power saw you have to clean them up, Sometimes more of a hassle than just using a pipe cutter, but if you must use a power saw use a chop saw straighter cut.....

As a master plumber, I use a PVC tubing cutter. It is hands down the best tool to use. They come in different shapes and sizes, and most have replaceable cutter blades. They will cut up to 2 inch pipe. For larger diameter pipes, a chop saw, mounted on a fab table, will give the best cut. For extra large pipes, a gas powered cut off saw works best, but care must be taken, as it can "kick" back on you, if the pipe moves around. For extra large pipes, we use a wrap around, to mark a straight line around the diameter of the pipe. I hope this helps!

I find a chop saw works best with a blade with very fine teeth.
Hand held tools like a saws all works good too, but you can't get the cut 100% staright. The starighter the cut, the better the fit will be when you glue the pipe into the fitting.

Just how much are you cutting?
Use a skillsaw, it's fast and clean and straight.
A proper PVC pipe cutter is handy but why spend a bunch of bucks if you're only going to use it once or twice?
