Is there a certain religion or place in the world that denies citizenship to a specific group of people? Perhaps women, members of another religion, etc...?
In modern times, that is. I know that the ancient Greeks denied it to women, slaves and peasants.
Thank you.

I couldn’t even get a tourist visa to visit Saudi Arabia let alone citizenship. All expatriates need a sponsor to go to Saudi. The only reason I was able to visit this country as a single, white, American woman, was my father’s employment in the country. He was sponsored by a Saudi national and they signed the papers for my visit. Saudis seldom grant citizenship to emigrants; they rather bring in workers from other countries (like Pakistan, India, etc) and grant them work visas.

Every country has restrictions on citizenship. Most western countries give citizenship to anyone born there or to anyone born to a citizen. Many nonwestern countries only give citizenship only to the children of citizens and have no naturalization laws which is a de facto lockout for migrants. Citizenship and rights are sometimes two different things however and in many countries ethnic minorities are looked down upon and discriminated against.

Criswell,
It's not all liberals. I'm one and I know the numbers. We need to get it through to the rest of us -- there are societal counters to the anti-Semitism of the far right, but not for new anti-Semitisms of the left.
Add in the fact that some 23% of the Israeli population is Arabic and the claims just don't work. Israel offered to take a percentage of the Palestian Arab refugees if the other nations took the rest, the Arab League refused. And so on.

Yes. Despite liberals and other anti-semities never ending bashing of Israel (which has 1.5 million Palestinian citizens); Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait deny Palestinians citizenship regardless if they were born there or not. Kuwait actually went one step farther and kicked out 300,000 Palestinians. Liberals love to bury that fact.
