They have some great summer houses that you can rent for a week or so. Then there's the city or downtown really. It's a party town to be honest, but it's fun. You can put-put and then there's also a winery, with good wine, or so I've heard from my mom, I can't drink yet. You can rent golf carts and riding your bike around the island is a lot of fun.

Put-In-Bay is a good place for a mini vacation as long as you like to go to bars and it is not a family vacation. The bars get pretty rowdy on the weekends. One of my favorite non-bar things to do it to rent a bike or golf cart to drive around the island. And be sure to stop and hit up the winery. That's pretty cool.
Make sure you know where you plan to stay if you are staying overnight. There are a few B&Bs on the island, but other than that you have to pitch a tent or have a boat where you can sleep. If you don't mind taking the ferries back and forth, Pt. Clinton has hotels.
PS--Have a pizza at Frosty's

i agree with the previous answers. Plus there are the other islands around too. if you go to the boardwalk, and take a ride on the Sonny-S (i used to work on the boatline), you can visit Middle Bass. Since Lonz's winery got shut down, there isn't much there tho. J.F. Walleyes and St. Hazards are the 2 attractions for that island. They are both bars with good food. Hazards is also a resort with a pool. The rest of the island is residential and quite quiet. There are also some other ferries that can take you to Kellys Island which is cool too. It has some cool sites like the glacial grooves. I still prefer Put In Bay. It has the most to do.

Even the air smells like beer. If you dont drink there is not much else to do. The island is crawling with snakes! They are a species exclusive to the islands. No one mentions this too much but over the years they have gotten worse. When you are swimming they are all around in the water, on the docks on the sidewalks, its way too much. (still I keep going back!) The last time I went I swore to never return, it was that bad. But it is a scenic and serene place, away from the "downtown" area. I think its great for a day trip but I wouldnt recommend an extended stay.

Put in Bay is a great area. Depends on what you want to do but with the lake, there's fishing, swimming, boating etc. On the other hand, if your days are rainy, there's probably not too much to do.
I'm sure they have a website or tourist bureau for more info.
