You know, I have no idea if you sweat while you swim. That's a very interesting question. I'm thinking that it's possible if you swim hard enough. I know when I take too hot of a bath I sweat.
As far as if swimming is as good an exercise as running, I would say YES!!! As long as you swim long enough and hard enough. Keeping your heart rate up a bit and feeling a bit winded is a good indication that you're getting the aerobic exercise you need to lose body fat. And to top that off, swimming isn't harmful to your joints like running is. And it's a heck of a lot funner then running, too!!! So I say swim, swim, swim!!! Enough for me too if ya don't mind, I need to lose a few pounds myself lol

I'm a swimmer and swimming is just as good as running. Swimming works on losing fat and gaining muscles in all parts of the body. You dont sweat when you swim. But you still lose water, but no sweating. Honestly i dont think that you need much water when swimming except when sprintiing,

swimming is a better exercise for losing fat than running. By swimming one mile, you burn 4 times more calories than if you ran a mile. Swimming will help you get very trim. i dont think you do sweat as much as running because usually the water cools you down alot, but you do get alot of exercise.

i would prefer swimming over running .the reason is you use more muscles swimming than any other exercise, therefore you will create more muscle mass and lose fat.

It good cardovascular exercise, low impact. But I've heard it not much good for losing weight, possibly because you don't sweat.
