Preppy Style tips?

Any style tips for a preppy look?

Get your clothes from brand name stores. If you can't afford to shop for these brands, try normal things that look preppy. Preps usually have clothes that are just classic. If you can't afford those brands or if you don't want to travel 200 miles to the nearest decent shopping mall, look for the following types of items:

polos
solid-color sweaters
any type of pearls (for girls)
flats or flip flops
khakis
designer jeans

A true preppy is someone who:
Wears, but is not limited to, Polo, Lilly Pullitzer, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, ribbon belts, prints ( sweaters tied around the neck, collar always popped, looks neat and put together. Hair ribbons or ribbon headbands, pearls, and other classic jewelry pull the look together. Preppies are partial to monogrammed and engraved items (ie tote bags, oxford shirts, jewelry, money clips, etc). Colors are always brite (favorites include pink and lime green). Preppies may not always match EXACTLY but they are always coordinated. Hats are worn (ie polo player, Lacoste, Brooks Brothers), but they are unique- not designs you would see in the mainstream and the "mall".They buy into classics rather than trends, and don't change their lifestyles with fads.


Preppies don't:
* Wear tight, skin exposing clothing (ie fitted Abercrombie sexual tshirts with tight flared jeans)
* Limit themselves to mall shopping and chain stores. They gravitate towards long-established classic stores and boutiques unique to quaint New England towns.
* Wear heavy makeup and endless hair products. The phrase "less is more" is a preppy creed.
* Glue purses to their arms, especially when going to school. Lip gloss and if need be, a wallet, are thrown into tote bags along with books.

try goiung to J. crew or ralph lauren or Tommy Hilfiger. Over lappping polos and sweaters look really goos with a nice set of khakis and flats. I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT GO TO ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH OR HOLLISTER becaus ethey are not preppy, only sometimes. Try a much chicer store fro preppy clothes.

My sister is telling me what to put because I don't know. She says: To look preppy always wear like brown, baby blue, creme orange and grey. One idea is you can match a brown polo shirt,with a spaghetti strap baby blue shirt over the polo shirt, with skinny leg jeans and a cute pair of flats. Some stores you can get preppy clothes from is American Eagle, Buckle and Abercrombie and Fitch. Good Luck!!!

If your looking for some place preppy you can shop at go to my favorite store its abercrombie&fitch.Thats the only place I shop at and yes it's considered very preppy. Go for it.

They have lots of great preppy looks that have a beach-theme. Pair one of their polo shirts with the flower and bead bracelet and you'll have the lok down pat!

**.:tip:. try straigtening your hair (and leave it down) and putting in a simple a headband
