My oppinion? Ask your dr to induce. If he refuses ask him why. If its just because he doesn't like inducing find one who will. I've been induced with all of my children and intend to be induced with this one. (then again my children get very large lol, nver had one that weighed less than 8lbs 6oz)

I've had 3 kids and spicy food never worked for me with my 1st child she was two weeks late. No amount of walking, sex, or nipple stimulation I did she still didn't come. Walking can help and so can sex I did both of those with my other children and It did work. Sometimes babies are ready when there ready. I know your uncomfortable try to relax and enjoy your last few days. Because before long you will pray you had some peace and quiet. My children are 12 years apart. My youngest is 1 and boy does it change your life. Good luck wish you all the happiness in the world just enjoy every moment because you blink and there all grown. God Bless you.

Yes, spicy food helps - but it can also make you feel sick.
In Australia - don't know where you live - you can go in on your due day and be induced - I wouldn't want to wait any longer, call the hospital - the doctor on duty will probably examine you to see if you are ready and then you can be induced - I was lucky and all my kids (four of them!) were born either a week or (the closest) 2 days before. But I was ready to call that hospital. By the end of your pregnancy every day seems like a month!!
All the best - and congratulations

Every one is different. I had spicy food with my first and the had to indose labor and she was a week over due. My 2nd one because I was moving in to my new place I went into labor 2 day early. They said all the moving and lefting stuff. But who know spicy food may just work for you.

Spicy foods work the same way caster oil does... it stimulates the bowels which could bring on contractions. But do you really want diarrhea to go with your labor? It can make you dehydrated as well as cause infection, which are both dangerous for the baby. Spicy foods can also bring on indigestion.... not so cool!!!
I'd recommend a hot bath (not too hot) and a cup of red raspberry tea, also known for contracting the uterus. :)

Youre right to not want to be induced! I had a terrible labour when I was induced! The amount of times they poked hooks and what not "down there" was absolutely terrifying not to mention painful. I was also connected to amount a million drips and wires, so ended up having an epidural. as i couldnt have an active birth! Start walking everyday for about an hour a day. Drink loads of raspberry leaf tea every day. Eat pineapple - freshly cut. Try a hot curry. Try sex. Try squatting gently and standing up and squatting. I wish I had done something earlier in my pregnancy with my daughter so I wouldnt have been induced - this time I am going to start all of the above at 37 weeks!

Nah... babies are funny, and if this is your first, plan on it being a week or so late. They get stubborn in there, and when its nice and warm, why come out? I wouldn't try sex either. That could be very harmful to the fetus and nipple stimulation will only increase your desire for sex. If you want sex, try masturbation. Or go for a short walk... that may help.

Babies are an art not a science! Your baby is not ready. My guy was almost 2 weeks past due, I had bruises from his kicks.

Take the time to make sure you are ready and have everything you need. Then listen to the quiet, it maybe a while before you will be able to enjoy it again.

Becareful of the nipple stimulation, it can be bad for the baby's heart rate. My doctor just told me that this past week, when I told him I wanted to have my baby now!! I would just do some house work, and enjoy the time you have now...

Well I am due Saturday...I have tried everything, including castor oil...dont do that it is horrible. Nothing seems to work for me, not sex, walking, castor oil, raspberry tea, eating spicy foods, eating chineese food, jumping on the trampoline...NOTHING. So if you find something that does the trick let me know!

I used Red Raspberry Leaf Tea 6 times a day.(make sure it is Leaf or it won't work) Also try Evening Primrose Oil capsules (insert 2 at night when you go to bed) for a couple of nights.
