I have had best Friend for over 17 years .WHY do you wont to dump on her!! So shes boring you sound as if you are VERY YOUNG and don't need best a Friend after all you have new friends now, and you don't need the old ones that have been there you in the past! If you get rid of her, YOU will regret it the rest of your life. ONE real friend is worth all your new friends just remember That!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well for one she is your best friend for a reason at some part of your life, so I think even though you've made seems-to-better-friends, you need to not get rid of her..she's not some kind of sickness or disease, just chill out and maybe suggest for her to come with you and your other frds b/c they are so upbeat and fun to be around and maybe their influence will rub off on her or she will get the picture of how much you enjoy being with your other friends and that you want her to be like them in that way.

You should be able to do this without a divorce. Just start cooling things down. It sounds like you did some growing up or have begun to take more risks and those changes did not happen to your friend.

Change is constant -- let it cool down, she may be your good bud again some time.

Tell her what don't you like in her and what is upsetting you in her actions, tell her the type you are... it might help her with her personality if you "teach her" and you in your friendship with her... if she gets angry then i guess there is no better advice i can give but just hang around with you other friends...
At least you were honest... but God knows best

Have a conversation with your best friend and tell her nicely that you enjoy spending time with your other friends. Don't shut her out of your life completely. It'll make her feel worse.

That is sad, but I guess if you are done with her rather then continually hurting her just tell her you don't want to be friends. But don't expect her to be there when your new friends who are so fun turn their backs on you.
