This President is as close as Nixon was to be the first President to be impeached & convicted of crimes against the country. The Courts had already struck down his warrantless eavesdropping. He had no choice but to make a strategic withdrawal on the issue.

HOWEVER, FISA is not a real Court of law. It is not part of the Judicial branch of government; its judges are appointed by Congress for 7 year terms. At his time, the majority of them were appointed by a neocom dominated Congress so for the near future, they will likely follow the Bush & Co line. The emphasis for the FISA courts is not the law, but National Security - otherwise known as keeping the government secrets, secret. So this is not much of an improvement at all, especially after the rules of the Partiot Act & Military Commissions Act are included in the mix. The whole process is done in secret, & since the evidence found will certainly fall into the National Security area, the defendant will still not be able to see the evidence against him if he ever goes to court.

Real easy, because once you get beat up enough even if you are doing the right thing than you give into bad behavior. I personally believe that if you have nothing to hid, than any thing that the Federal Government wants to do to protect me is fine as long as it doesn't violate the Constitution. What burns me the most is that the left cries when ever they feel like it and protects the rights of criminals over the rights of victims.

There are going to be many investigations into the criminal acts of this president, I hope this is one of the issues that they explore. George Bush and his goons feel he is above the law or can make his own laws. Look for a good deal of the patriot act and the military act being thrown out when it gets to the supreme court. These acts are in direct violation of the constitution and they know it. I hope he goes directly from impeachment to prison personally.

I have no idea what you are getting at but I doubt you do either. Nancy Pelosi said today that the Congress will continue to fund the President in his efforts. There goes all of your arguments.
