I can't think of many similiarities between G and P, except that they were both male.

The Gilgamesh epic more closely resembles the Noah/Flood story of the Bible than Promethus. He started out human, but recieved a divine directive to build an ark to save people from a flood. His obedience in building the ark supposedly "earned" him a place in "heaven" as an immortal, or "god".

Prometheus was already an immortal, although a lesser one, when he stole fire from Zeus to give it to humanity. He was subsequently sentenced to an eternity of torture--being eaten alive by vultures every day, and healing at night.
