Yes all weight issues (from anorexia, bolimia, to excessive obesity) stem from psychological issues.

Many diet programs like Jenny Craig, LA Weight Loss, and Weight Watchers have you make a journal of the foods you eat. On this journal, they have a spot to write how they feel so you can monitor your eating habits and put a spotlight on the emotion behind the eating.

Typical over eating occurs with being boared, sad, angry, happy, stressed ... basically if you understand the emotions while your eating, then you can plan for these when you start to feel.

I don't think all weight issues are psychological because I took a medicine for a long time that increased my appetite. I lost weight after my dosage was lowered.

I once heard of a case where someone who had brain surgery had a certain part of his brain damaged or at least affected from the operation. He's continuously hungry now unless someone eventually found a way to decrease his appetite. It sounds tragic, but it also sounded like he might have died or gone into a coma if the surgery hadn't been performed.

Yes it is a psychological thing. People tend to overeat for one of three reasons, comfort, inactivity (or boredom), or greed. I'm guessing one of the first two because if it was the third then you wouldn't even be asking this question. I think you just need to find something to do. Most people, when they're doing something they find particularly interesting or entertaining, may even FORGET to eat. Mental stimulation can help you out if you do this because of boredom. If it is for comfort, then I suggest you really see a psychologist because they're may be underlying personal issues that need to be addressed before you talk about food.

A person has what is called an apistat level, this is a function in the brain that tells one they are full or not, no matter how they feel [bloated or not]. lol

You are not alone.

Simply eat VERY slowly, this will readjust your settings, and you will feel full on less food. You will want to continue to eat at a slower set pace all the time honey.

It most likely is a psychological thing. It's most likely do to any stress you have in your life or just boredom. If we eat when we really aren't hungry, our body will adapt to that kind of behavioir, so even though you reallly aren't hungry, your body still believes you need to be eating.

Of course it is !You have to think about what`s wrong in your life , what really "doesn`t fit".Could it be school ( or job ) , love , family relationship ? Or , simply deception , unsatisfaction of any kind ?
After you find out the cause , you`ll have to try to solve it . If it`s not so easy ( and I know it`s not ) , please , ask for help , do not give up! Family , friends , even a psichologist ( or a priest ) could help . Only try , and do not say it`s hopeless !
