You could just read the book. Or do your own research. WOW, what a concept! I know reading makes your brain hurt, but its okay.. you'll make it, I promise. Just sound out the big words, like "mice" and "migrant".

You're complicating this assignment more than you need to. While you really should make an honest effort to learn the material, you can BS your way through this one. What do you think life was like for migrant workers in the 1930s? You can't possibly think that they had it easy. All you need to do is write about a life of hardship. They had a hard time getting across the border into Califronia in the first place, and then ontop of that they had the worst of working conditions. They pretty much had to take whatever they could get, which usually meant working in a sweatshop. After all, they were only one small step above slaves.

This is a site about the 30's in Hollywood. This was the era when Ronald Reagan came to Hollywood.

I had to write a paper like this on people who worked in rice fields in asia in the 30's. I couldn't find anything specifically about that so I looked up the climate, the clothes they wore, looked up the hours they would have worked, and few my own conclusions. I also contrasted those conditions to those of workers today who have workers unions and safety devices and modern comforts.
