Why is my dvd stuck on no disc when there is a disc in there?

That means it can't read the DVD. Check that its in properly, and that it isn't damaged.

Somethings not working right it could be the DVD or it could be the reader inside the DVD player. I would try another DVD out in there and see if it can read it and if it can well then you know its just that DVD. Worse case scenario it could be a problem with the DVD drive itself.
