98.6 is only an average temperature
some are higher
some are lower (like me)

Everybodies normal temperature is different, it just depends on past temperature readings over the years. It also depends on your environment at the time of the reading. When you took the reading it could have been low because of the cold air and you were cold. Your body temperature is also not always at a constant tempeature even though it tries to keep it at one.

So that temperature might be your average temperature, but it seems a little low, if it doesnt go back up in about an hour or so take measures to make yourself warmer and expect the worst if you're sick

It is a little low for a human (98.2 -99), yet may be perfectly normal for some animals.

Possibly, some peoples temperatures run hotter or colder than than the average.
