Its interesting isn't it? i think its alot to do with the whole 'fame' thing and how they get such a lot of money that they can pretty much do whatever they like, without thinking about the consequences.
its a shame though, because it tells the younger generation (through the media of course) that this kind of behaviour is ok, when it really isnt.

They just weren't legal and had to do what their "advisors" i.e. press people, managers etc. told them they had to do, which could be why they let loose when they do turn 18 or 21, now NOONE can tell them what to do so they are going through a late adolescent rebellion.
