I was there a year ago doing contract work. On Saturdays I would go down for a walk along the RiverWalk. I thoroughly enjoyed this time. There were numerous quaint shops and restaurants along the way. I kept thinking to myself, whoever came up with this idea was brilliant. There are little shuttle boats
that will take a person along the Riverwalk instead of walking. The Riverwalk goes around some city blocks and also branches off away from the downtown. Also the Riverwalk takes you up to the Alamo. Need to see this. It will give a person alot of respect for the men who fought here. One of the branches of the Riverwalk go between some hotels and the convention center. It ends in caldesac. Usually there is a band from South America playing their native songs, pull up a chair and enjoy. Make sure to go there at night it is pretty.

Hi - the biggest attraction to visit is the Alamo. The Riverwalk itself is free, as it is just a city walkway/park that runs along the river through downtown. Many cafes, restaurants (including chains), and shops are along the riverwalk so if you eat or shop there, that's where your money will be spent. You can also go on a boat ride and learn the history of the town and river for less then $10 according to the website link below.

Have fun!
