Well is it a coin issued by a government, or is it just a medal? It is at least worth it's gold content. Not enough info given to really be of much help. In addition: First of all more than one country makes gold Oriental zodiac coins. If your coins says 500 dollars above the tiger then it is a coin. Actually a non circulating commemorative coin. It was made more for the non-collector market. It is made from .916 gold and has .5000 oz. actual gold weight. It is KM# 60 and in 2001 it booked $500.00 and the mintage was 3,000. It is worth more for it's gold, than anything else. Coin collector's like to collect coins that actually are used in everyday commerce. You will have get a newspaper and go to the financial section to see what gold is going for today. You have 1/2 oz troy. I do not keep up with modern coin pricing due to the expense of the books. I buy the updated ones from 1600-1900. I buy the 1900 to 2000 only after a few years go by.
