Personally I like both albums. However Stadium Arcaium is my most favorite album in the world because it is the Chili Peppers in their highest forms. They all worked SUPER hard on it. I read reviews all the time when it states that John didnt come out as well or it wasnt deep enough. I think thats bogus. This is the album where John owns. He rocks to his maximum ability. If you are a guitar player you'll know it because there are soooo many different guitar track recordings and every subtle change enriches the music. THis was John at his best while in the Chili Peppers. As far as depth goes, this is by far the deepest album. An album that covers every "atom" on earth and relates it to the most distant corners of the ever growing space. Just like space evolves, so do the two cd's, every time i listen to them

For me Californication is better album, because it's more in their earlier style. But I like the Stadium Arcadium as well. They are perfect band!

Stadium Arcadium is an unfocused double-whammy consisting of alright tracks with homogenized production values. And the rhythm section is hardly given room to shine. And keep in mind this band's rhythm is primarilly driven by Flea's funk-filled basslines. Once you subdue that, the rest of the band sounds, well... like everyone else.
Californication, however, was a hearty mix of classics where every member of the band is playing a slew of different styles and appealing to various sensibilities, all without losing their edge.
I'd have to go with 1999 album.

Stadium Arcadium is the only RHCP album ive ever bought and listened to all the way through...

i like stadium Arcadium album but i like the song Californication as well so i think i will go with both

Both cheap sell outs.
Saw a band in Barcelona who played REM songs in the style of RHCP - better than both the originals
