He was born in Hawaii and lived a pretty well-off life. From my opinion of it, a lot of Americans and the black community are shunning him for it. And in reality, the only reason he's getting so much attention is because he's black. If he was white, no one would care that much about him because he's young and is drastically inexperienced. Which is understandably going to upset people since he lacks a lot that many other politicians have worked long and hard for, but he's getting farther than them with half the effort.

Who's that upset at him?

He gets a little flack cuz some say he's not "black enough" for growing up middle class. He had a minor tie in to a notorious political influence peddler (bribery connotations). Otherwise, most of his critics are Republican. That's natural since he's very popular and seen as one of the primary hopefuls to head a Democratic presidential ticket.

I don't think he has many people upset, but he is getting a lot of attention. I don't think his race is an issue to most people. His religion is Christian; people wondered whether he was Muslim because of his middle name, Hussein, which is a Muslim name; but he is not.
As a Democrat, of course, he will be opposed by the Republicans. That is normal.

I've heard from some blacks that Obama "is not black enough." What the hell does that mean? He doesn't count because he is mixed. Whatever. Why can't people focus on whether a candidate can do the job, or not, instead of race, religion, sex.....

The right is already on the attack , and they are very good at telling half truths . I've seen accusations that he is a Muslim just because of his name . Lets wait and see what the man has to say
