parents and kids, spouses, friends, relatives: know you well and could use that to get you to do stuff
employers: can threaten to fire you if you don't do stuff
blackmailers: someone knows a secret about you and you do what they want to keep it private
someone armed/with a weapon: you'll obey if you wanna stay alive
smooth talking salesperson: gets you to buy stuff based on lofty expectations and making you feel like you need it

POLITICIANS! They manipulate the people in to seeing them as a hero and the opponent as an enemy. Basicly any person that sells something (car dealers especially) manipulate the buyer by making bargains, showing off the good and making the bad seem fixable and not bad at all.

Iago very effectively manipulated Othello to suspect his wife Desdemona in Shakespeare's play "Othello."
A lawyer could manipulate a jury to think the defendent is innocent or guilty.

They decide what you will learn.
A good teacher will make you want to learn more on a subject
A bad teacher will may learning seem a chore.
