i'm not here to insult im here to make a point and you people tell me if you agree or not and if you want you can explain.
i really dont like how people think bad of athiests, they think they are devil worshipers, they have no morals, they will go to hell and burn for all eternity. now i know only a few religious people do this compared to those of you who dont but im really against those who do.
first of all, athiests dont believe in let alone worship the devil, not realt athiests anyway, if you believe in bad you have to believe in good and i only believe that in people not satan and god. as for our morals, just because we didnt get it from a book doesnt mean we have none, morals are really common sence (EX: you respect me i respect you, you disrespect me i disrespect you) and with threats to us, thats not going to work since we dont even believe in something that can do that to us so save your breath please its just annoiying.
so tell me what you think, agree or disagree

I consider myself pretty religious. Raised in a very strict Catholic household. I have a very high standard of morals about myself, and I know many other people who refer to themselves as atheists who have just as high standards for themselves. I personally feel that my spirituality is a source of strength for me. I don't condemn anyone for their beliefs. I think people of all or no denominations can be good people with good values. Nobody should be judging anyone else because of their religious (or lack of) beliefs.

For the most part, I agree. I appreciate how you mentioned that not all of us do that because we don't. I don't judge or condemn anybody. I am not God. I don't have the right to judge anybody. The Bible says, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Therefore, as Christians, (as well as other religions for I know that they pretty much all believe in this) we should all hold ourselves to this standard. I don't judge you for your beliefs, and I expect for you to not judge me for mine...which I'm sure that you don't. Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs. I do realize, however, that some people do find it hard not to judge. I don't know why, but that's just the way it is sometimes. I would like to apologize to you on behalf of those who have insulted, judged, or discriminated against you. That's not what God wanted, and perhaps that is the very thing that is keeping some people from believing in Him. Why would you want to follow someone you're told watches your every move waiting to pounce on you the second you mess up. I wouldn't want to believe in that kind of god either. I know God is not like that, and I have strong faith in Him. I pray that you will find Him too, but that is still your choice.
I want you to know, however, that you and the rest of the athiests are not alone in this. Everyone faces some sort of discrimination and persecution because of their beliefs and practices. I think it's all ridiculous, and we should all learn to live and let live. No one has any more right to believe what they choose than anyone else.
I hope this gave you a good answer. I know I kind of started rambling a little, but I had a lot to say. I usually do when it comes to this topic. :)

Sorry but you are just as ignorant of what atheists and agnostics are as the persecuting christians!! ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!! Like BUDDHISM – Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment!! Add christians and muslims together and they amount to just under a third of the world population the majority of the rest is made up of atheists and religions without gods!! So they are in the majority here!!! And most agnoistics such as yourself post more like christians!! So why not look at why they are christian and the difference between christian, atheist and agnostic in the real world?!! Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without scepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skeptcism and deters more open minded thinking. They are christian because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!! Atheists have the intelllect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!! Agnostics have just enough intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to leave the conditioning completely!! Christians are prisoners of the brainwashing!!

I think a lot of time people get their morality through their given religion. It seem s difficult to instill in a young person right from wrong without introducing then to good and evil.
Much consciousness comes out of religion. Many times it is guilt that prevents one from doing wrong and if a wrong is done, then many times by owning up to it and and asking forgiveness from society but more importantly GOD, ones conscience can be appeased. There are many lost people walking the earth who have no sense of remorse for any crimes they may do. These people are evil. Anyway I digress...what gives you your moral compass? Just curious where you developed it. Children will do wrong unless taught otherwise.

You have fabulous insight and I applaud your integrity on this matter!!! I agree wholeheartedly. I was raised a catholic and then converted to Buddhism..that was a LONG time ago.....I am not presently practicing it the way it would be practiced save this...the word God isn't used, and wasn't.....making me my own neighbourhood anathema...now I simply walk my talk and all of my studies show i am a great person in society and I walk my talk. I do not need to say I have given my life over in order to live a good if not a great life, it is in my actions and not in my words....though when my words are spoken they are from experience. I am not a favourite among Christians when they find this out, but until then I am really accepted for the person i am at heart and soul!!!!! Great question and fabulous insight!!!!!

Agree :)

I'm very much an atheist. I even won't let my kids say "under god" when they say the pledge at school.
Yet I volunteer at the school regularly, I do charity work in the community, I coach little league -- all in a very christian (and fairly small town) area. Other than a few very hard-core fundamentalists, everybody likes me and I get along great even with those who are very religious (but don't push it on others). Like I wish the fundamentalists would do, I don't push my lack of belief on others, but I will tell them what I think if they ask. That's how everyone should treat everyone :)
Peace.

Im with you. Christians have this random thought that if we dont worship God, we must worship the Devil. WRONG!!! If we dont belive in God, we dont believe in the Devil. We just choose to believe science (actual facts) over religion (about as made up as the Easter Bunny). Whatever helps them sleep at night.

I agree, but it could have been worded better. Like, people who beleive in God should not discriminate and Judge those who do not believe in God and demoralize them, and vice versa. In my opinion to each their own, and you should definately learn a thing or two about somone before you say :(example:) "DevilWorshiper!" or something to that effect just because they don't beleive in a God....because in most cases it's not true. I think it's a basic respect for other people not to discriminate just because someone beleives something different than you, but hey, Im only one person...

Most people are atheists and don't even know it. How many people do you know that go to church on Sunday? I myself just couldn't believe that we are all bad and must repent or spend the rest of our existence in hell. I believe in faith but not so much on a religious level. As humans we all need something to believe in, for myself, that would be Darwinism, evolution.

I'm in between. I don't go to church but I do pray to some "Higher Power" out there. I was raised catholic. There are many things that I don't believe in catholism, that's why I rarely go to church.
For example, being gay is a sin, premarital sex is a sin, not going to church is a sin, abortion is a sin, etc....
Catholism is a bias religion. I only believe in doing good things while I am here on earth.
