When I'm feeling down I like to take some alone time and do something nice for myself. It doesn't have to be time consuming or expensive. I'll give myself a pedicure or go for a drive with my favorite CD playing.
Sometimes it's nice to hear it from other people. It can help to call a friend or post a blog. Your post here will probably get you some nice replies that might cheer you up. It's always nice to feel acknowleged or important to be reminded that life isn't so bad.
Boosting your self esteem will definitely help you be able to snap out of the blues more quickly. Maybe you could make it a project. Decided what things about you make you feel insecure and work on them. Lately I have been going to the gym and making sure that my nails are always manicured. It just makes me feel a little more polished and glamourous. When I start to feel a little crummy, I can look down and my sparkly fingertips and it makes me smile.

Reading a good book or seeing a good movie - getting lost in a narrative. Kids and animals also have a way to perk me right up and remember what life's all about. If that fails then there's always good old retail therapy... Exercise and getting out into nature also tends to work but motivation levels are not really high when you're feeling low.

I usually get on the computer look different things up in the search, sometimes call a friend and just talk, or play a computer game. But for the most part my mood just has to go thru it's own thing then I get back on my feet again. ;o)

Well, this may not work for everyone, but I play Halo 2 online. I sometimes get so stressed out or mad I just wanna hhit something or even someone. So I take all my anger out by killing things that arent real online, so I am not really hurting anyone.

When i'm feeling down i tell the cheer squad...sounds funny i know but thats the pet name my hubby and kids give themselves when they know i've had a hard day and need some cheering up...they always make me laugh.

I go to my room and write in my journal or I take a walk.
Other times I take a nice hot shower or use the phone to
call a friend to cheer me up. :)
