I've had some quick sharp cramps -started at about week 4 stayed till about week 6, and now at the end of 9, I still occasionally get them. They just last for a second or two, and then go away. My doctor seemed to think it was pretty normal anyway, so I'm not too worried.

Sharp pains, no. It's common to feel pain.. such as mild menstrual cramps.. but there shouldn't be any sharp pains. See your doctor ASAP! This could be a sign of miscarriage or a placental abruption which is life threatening for the baby and possibly the mother as well.
I added an address to a website with more info and symptoms to watch for.

It can be very normal, but I would still call your doctor when the office is open and talk to them about it. They do not mind your questions. If you start bleeding or just spotting I would call them right away.

Describe the symptoms to your doctor, they can help to diagnose exactly what is causing the pains
