Ivy Leagues aren't the only good schools out there. Of the top 11 ranked schools rated by US News this year, 5 aren't Ivy League schools.
Bill Gates was an Ivy Leaguer, but he dropped out so getting a degree in there isn't necessary for his kind of success.
A degree only helps you get a job. Success ultimately doesn't have much to do with what school you went to.

Yes, absolutely. The university you attend matters a lot less than what you do when you're there. Furthermore, anything you do or learn at college becomes almost irrelevant just a few more years down the line. My great job has almost nothing to do with anything I learned at school and almost everything to do with what I have learned in the last ten years. I didn't attend a premier university, and even then I wasn't a distinguished student.
The most important thing is to find the level of challenge that is right for you rather than what you, your parents, and your friends might like them to be. An average high school student isn't going to do well in an Ivy League school for the sole reason that he or she is interacting with very accomplished students. The best high school football team in the country would lose to almost any college football team, because high school boys aren't ready to compete with college men.
Different people have different learning styles, and different people mature at different rates. I shouldn't have gone to college when I was 17/18, because I wasn't really ready. I wasn't able to be a serious college student. I would have been better off waiting a year or two.
Don't worry about anything that happens before you are 30. The cement is still wet, and there's plenty of time to find your way in life.

Yes, some programs at state schools actually have better reputations than those at Ivy League schools....for instance, the Packaging Majors at Michigan State University are recruited by employers in their Junior years, these majors are in high demand. For Art, the Rhode Island School of Design is much better than other undergrad Ivy League programs. The Sociology department at University of Wisconsin is also highly regarded....First you have to figure out what you would like to major in, and then find the best school for that particular program. Don't worry, you'll figure it out, just decide on your major first.

Don't worry! You can get a great job even if you don't go to an ivy league school! Some schools are better for different things, and that include normal colleges with ivy league.

While a higher percentage of Ivy grads wind up successful than do those from other schools, far more successful people did not graduate from Ivies than did graduate from them. There are a lot of ways to be successful in life. Do your best, find something that works well for you, and put your all into it. I can think of very few jobs which are NOT available to graduates of lesser schools; the only thing which comes to mind is a few in management consulting firms in which the reputation of the firm depends upon the credibility of their consultants.

Of course. You can get a good job without college, it depends on what you consider a good job. The college grad working late to get an attaboy may be jus as happy as the HS grad that gets home early and plays ball with his boy. And vise versa. Chase your dream and you will be successful in life, Ivy League or not (If you do, go BROWN baby!).
Love, peace, and sooooooouuuuuullllll...........

you can always get a good job without going to an ivy league. You can even go to a community or state college then just go on to graduate school. Relax.

I don't know where you're from but typically the highest grade you can get is an A. No, you don't have to go to an Ivy league school to be successful, but it practically garentees it.

Depends on what you think a good job is.
I know people make 100k in the middle of nowhere with a high school education, even a GED.
If you can't meet the standard, lower the standard.

Compared to your personal characteristics when it comes to applying for a job, college names don't amtter much. If someone sees that you're in the top 10% from a state school, they're likely to be equally impressed. You also need to be a hard, and dilligent worker.
