Okay.First, it looks like half these people on here don't know what there talking about. Saying a battery can completly die in a year haha. Sheesh. Yes it is true that an battery can die out and you need to get it replaced, but hardly ever in just a year. The ipod battery can go through about 500charges cycles, wich is letting it run out all the way and then charging it up all the way. You may need a new battery true, but first try the five "R's" witch is reset, retry, restart, reinstall,and restore. Go here

try holding menu and the circle button in the middle. This will restart your Ipod. This usually works on all ipods. If that doesn't work try getting a new battery.

Ok, first press the hold button on and off (right to left) then press the menu button + the button in the middle for 6-10 seconds.

Order a new battery online for it. These die about 12-18 months and need to be replaced.

well if u have had it for longer than 18 months u have to replace it
otherwise do a reset , hold the center buttton and menu
and make sure that its charged and the hold switch is off

depends on the typer of ipod switch the hold button on and off then depndging on your ipod hold either the menu & middle circle button or the play/pause button & the circle one
