It depends on what you consider underground, but some of the better rap i've found lately:
Gym class heroes- theyre really hit or miss. I like "cupids chokehold" "the queen and i" and "taxi driver"
Rhymefest- he's on kanye West's label and is fairly entertaining.
They're not underground but the Lupe Fiasco-Food & liquor, and Nas-Hip hop is dead are the 2 best rap albums i've found in a while

Everyone always name drops Atmosphere and MF Doom but personally i find them overrated and pretty mediocre.

not sure if you'd call it underground, but any Stones Throw artist is gonna be good - Madlib, MF DOOM, Quasimoto, J-Dilla, Percy P, Dudley Perkins, etc. . . the Chrome Children album should give you a good idea of what that stuff is all about. . .

If you like music like mos def and blackstar, you should look into Little Brother, its a group of three members, their music is the ****. Their signed to Atlantic but of course don't get alot of radio play.

im glad someone asked this..im not sure if you have already heard of him but look up Atmosphere, he's from Minneapolis and a lot of people around here know who he is. some other ones Andre Nickatina and Sage Francis
