Looking at your avatar makes me think that I like humans who behave like cats. Independent, free-thinkers, a bit too proud of themselves, but they know where they stand.
I definitely don't like humans who act like dogs - obedient to the master, mindless, follow orders without thinking

I thrive on the diversity of ppl, and pick friends like I would pick ppl to run a ship with me.
I need:
1. A navigator - Someone with leadership skills, and reads maps. Who can look at the past, and present and project into the future. My dad was my navigator for a long time.
2. A dreamer - Someone who wants more than they have using their highly elevated imagination can fill me with hope and ambition.
3. The dude who mops the deck - Someone who's not afraid to get dirty, and given a task, gets anything done.
4. The cook - anyone who looks after my well being and feeds me is a great friend --- especially if they make chocolate mouse.
5. Bunches I don't know who makes sure the ship runs (hoisting sails, hoisting up the anchor, and making ropes).

I think my first important quality is kindness. Then being curious and open minded, respectful, treating others with dignity and respect, being able to see ' the big picture' and not just a small piece of the puzzle. Giving a damn about your fellow person and animals and the whole world, truly and not just mouthing the words.
People who personify my ideas, Martin Luther King Jr., the Dali Lama, Mother Theresa, Jesus Christ.

Respect is a mutual thing. The first thing I look for in someone is whether they respect ME. It is harder to admire someone that has obvious distain for the way I live. It is also hard to like people who are prejudiced against me or my culture. I said hard, not impossible. People and their attitudes change. If you don't like someone because they won't donate blood, you are as bigotted as they are. I'm just saying that both respect and prejudice go both ways.

I mainly look for respect, consideration, intelligence, honesty, integrity, and all that other good stuff. In a perfect world, everyone would have all of the qualities I mentioned above. However, we all know that everyone don't display these qualities, so you gotta learn how to deal with those who you particularly don't like..........unfortunately.

I think people are more or less innocent until found guilty.
openess is important,i cant/wont trust somebody who is in anyway guarded, its all or nothing.
Tend to dislike anyone displays disregard for other people,i mean in their actions and not their private words
Dislike people with stupid standards, some things matter and some things are just plain trivial.

... sadness and the gift of pain, the new-moon madness and the love of rain. (It's a quote from Dorothy Parker, but those qualities in someone really do intrigue me.)
