I had limewire before, and never had problems. But I redownloaded it, and it won't fully start up. We get pop-ups saying there is a firewall blocking the internet connection it needs to get the music files. That we need to allow access to the internet before it'll work. We have sone everything we know to allow access, it just doesn't seem to be the right thing. So if anyone has had similar problems and knows how to fix it please let me know. thank you!

If you are running the Windows Firewall you might find it easier to add it to the Exception List.
Start - Control Panel - Windows Firewall - Exceptions Tab - Add Program (Button) - Browse (Button) - Type in the File name box C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe - Click Open - Then click OK - Then OK again and this should help :)
If you have no firewall installed im not sure ill have a look further for you :)

You need to tell your firewall to "allow" Limewire. Open control panel > Open Security Center > Click on Windows firewall under Manage Security Setting For: Then allow the programs you want to allow.

You have a Windows firewall and probably also a firewall installed with your anti virus software.
I wouldn't turn off both.
Also, if you are using a router, you will need to gant access through the port Limewire uses.

we have limewire a couple of months ago and it messed our computer up. We have a new computer and had to get a technician to come out and fix it. He found the limewire and it had installed alot of different things and a virus. so be careful

try givin it a couple hours first, thats happened to me before and with my internet connection as well, i just waited for awhile and it was just fine later
