This guy is perfect! So what if he has only been a senator a few years?? He's a genuine, well-spoken, intelligent man who is not going to run the country according to his fellow shareholders.

Bush has just about run this country into the ground! He is totally and completely manipulated the American people and pissed off the UN. We cannot afford to elect ANOTHER self serving republican into the white house!

He has just as much experience as Bush had when he won in 2000, so the experience thing shouldn't be the big issue that everyone is making it out to be. I like him and willing to give him a chance. We'll see how he handles things when the Democrat primaries start. Then his experience may or may not become an issue. He seems sincere and willing to take this country in a new direction that is sorely needed after four years of Bush.

You make so many blanket an non supported statements...or perhaps they are just opinions...1st amendment and all.

No on can single handedly run this country into the ground.
Completely manipulated the American people (that would include you too) then why did the American people elect him twice?
He pissed off the UN? Who cares? The UN operates so many off the wall programs, demands more US money and troops for their own goals, is corrupt - the Oil for Food scandal for one example.

How about electing another republican into the White House if you don't think he is self serving? Would that be OK with you?

To answer your question...there are people excited about Sen.Obama or else he wouldn't be looking at being President. He does however lack international experience....even Hillary has hinted at that.

First of all, I didn't know people weren't excited, I thought they very much were..

What I think..
1- He is still relatively new
2- He doesn't seem to be broadcasting a strong/clear message about where he stands on the issues
3- Although I am no fan of the war whatsoever, and the election is still a ways away, because of the situation Bush put us in, I want to know that our next president will have a backbone and be OK with exercising his/her military arm when due.
4- Some people, not me, still have an issue with race

Overall I think his inexperience and lack of strong opinion makes me uneasy so far, even though I'm left leaning. For me to vote for him the guy has gotta have more abilities than great speaking abilities.

Not all Republicans are "bad." Different people value different things in their country's leader. I think experience is a big reason why people aren't "excited" about Obama- he has very little experience compared to most that consider running for the office. However, many Americans vote based on personality and he does have charisma. Obama seems to really appeal to younger Americans too- perhaps because he is fairly young (compared to most others considering a run for president.)

sorry to be so crude but most people don't get over excited a turd, we need to elect some one with business experience, running a country is big business, not a damned popularity contest, how many lawyers have you seen that were successful business men, lawyers are self centered self serving thieves, that are nothing but professional cons who are taught from the beginning to be thieves and cons, also, Name one lawyer who became President, Congressman, or Senator who was a good statesman?
does anyone remember in the seventies when one of the states in the N,E, I believe New Hampshire or Vermont was bankrupt and decided to kick all of the lawyers out of office because they had stolen so much I believe, then they elected business men, 4 years later they were giving free heating oil to the elderly, and they were building roads schools etc, that they had not been able to do in years, also name one Lawyer who was ever successful in business, think about this when you vote.

He has been a senator for 2 years.

He is a liberal

He is not qualified to run this country both because of his lack of experience and his liberalism.

The President has gotten us out of a recession started at the end of the Clinton Administration and after 9-11.

What has he done? He talks only in platitudes, there is no real substance in his speeches. Obama is all about ideals and dreams. He hasn't said what he is going to do about the Iraq war, welfare reform, taxes, healthcare, and the debts. You like him for his charisma and his chastising of Republicans but there is nothing new about him. What is his political platform? He is going to crack under media scrutiny when he runs and will no longer be the media's darling. He is like any Democrat, there is nothing fresh about him and his new book is all about his dreams. How can that be a best seller? Obama is not a good candidate and he will lose his charm as he runs in the primaries.

The fact that he is Muslim scares me otherwise he seems intelligent. I would vote for Colin Powell, that man has leadership skills, well informed in overseas affairs, and integrity. But since he isn't running I'm not sure who I'll vote for. I've always voted Republican but I'm not happy with the way GWB has served as president. I like almost everything Democrats believe in except I do not believe in gay marriage or abortion and that stops me cold from voting Dem. Does anyone know of a Dem. running for president that does not believe in those things?

Why should I be excited about him?

I have heard very little about where he actually stands on important issues first of all. Second of all the racists in the red states are NEVER going to vote for a black man in this century, even if he looks "kinda white".

The Democrats have virtually been handed this election. We have Howdy Doody running the country into the ground. All they need is a nice, marketable middle-of-the-road Democrat who can sound slightly conservative and tough on terror and he will win.

So what do they do? Lets see if we can "push the envelope" and get a woman or a black man elected as president.

Idiots.

They may as well just bow out and vote for John McCain because if the Republicans are smart enough to run him, he is going to CRUSH Hillary or Obama or whoever else the Democrats try to run.

The only hope in hell for Obama or Hilary to win is if they neo-cons are truly delusional enough to run another conservatvie maniac with no brain and no integrity and I think even they aren't that stupid.

Mark my words. The GOP will use FEAR to manipulate the people once again and McCain will crush Obama or Hilary with EASE.
