I despise todays Liberal because they hate me. I am white male educated successful conservative. They hate everything I am about. I don't live on either of the coasts so they don't respect my opinion. I enjoy football and beer, and for that I am labeled a redneck. I want the Mexican invaders to leave my country so I am a facist. I love my country and my President, so I am a Nazi. I don't want the money I earn by working too many hours to feed the unemployed baby factory in the innercity , so I am heartless. I want a strong national defense and I want to fight my enemies abroad, so I am a warmonger. Thats why I despise liberals.

Some people cannot stand to hear someone else's view that disagrees with their own. It's not just liberals and conservatives.
I think that people come to their different conclusions about politics and strangely they are usually after similar outcomes. When you have a point of view, it can be easy to think that it is the most logical view. The recent South Park episode where Cartman wants the Wii is a good example of my point. It can be easy to vilify others with different views, and justify your own by doing so. Compromise is hard for people to consider, as is understanding the other side, or respecting other views.
Not to say that I am not guilty of this. I have my views and there have been times where I get mad and vilify others with different views. It happens sometimes. What has helped me is remembering that there are people who I respect who are democrats and have opposing views to mine. They don't like Bush and they support -higher taxes!- which is incomprehensible to me. But I respect their right to disagree with me. They live here too.
Anyway, I don't think that the people who say these things mean it personally. Even if they think so. Most of the "liberals" people say they hate are people they don't know and never will: Politicians, and as we all know, politicians are mostly slimy weasels after their own agenda.

I'm a conservative and I can tell you that I don't have a problem with liberals as long as they understand and respect the fact that I have a right to my own opinion. But it seems like some of them (not all) are incapable of engaging in intelligent debate and just want to make derogatory remarks and scathing insults against conservatives. I dislike those kind of liberals. (Hate is too strong of a word for them.)

I don't "hate" anyone - not worth the time or energy.
I *do* think that liberals are a very serious threat to my country...so I guess they scare me more than anything else.
MishMash is right - as a conservative, I think the hatred from the left is much more vile than what I've seen from the right.
If you are a conservative, you're a moron. If you're a Christian, you're a complete idiot. If you're against illegal immigration, you're a bigot. Bush is stupid, Bush is a monkey, Bush is Hitler.... Don't you think those statements are just *slightly* inflammatory?
And the people who do that never once see the hypocrisy in preaching about tolerance and diversity, then ripping you a new one for disagreeing.

Many conservatives hate liberals. Many liberals hate conservatives. On this board, I think you find people who are far more polarized than the nation as a whole, even more polarized than Congress (& that's saying a lot).

I don't hate the libs. I just wonder how they can possibly conclude as they do. I feel amusement when the issue is unimportant to me, frustration when they get in the way of a better America.

Do you know why you hate them? Is there anything specific in their agenda that offends you? Most "liberals" in the US would be called "moderates" in Europe. I like for the government to have some role in minimizing the inequalities that exist in our society. They do so in every other industrialized country on this planet.

Well you better take the Staue of Liberty down then because I thought she stood for freedom and liberty for all,but that must be only if you agree with them and hate is a very strong word that shouldnt be used lightly.

There is a lot of hate from both sides. Liberals seem to get the more nasty insults here, though. (I'm sure somebody will say the exact same thing in regards to Conservatives...)

It's not you. The hate for liberals exceeds any animosity towards conservatives on at least a 5-1 ratio.
note to Matt P - the Republicans/Conservatives view every one that doesn't agree with them as a liberal. That would include you.
