In other words, do you think they should be able to get drafted into the military? Not given special treatment like men opening up the doors for them or pushing in their chair? Being expected to support the family monetarily just like men are? What do you all think?

I would say yes if I didn't have a baby son at home. Somebody needs to stay home and take care of him in the event of a draft. I'm not saying women should be the one to stay home... I'm saying that having a draft for both men and women could tear many-a-family apart. In essence: draft women or men. Not both.

In a lot of ways, yes...
1)If they are doing the same job, have the same experience, education, They should receive the same pay for it.
2)It doesn't matter who stays home and raises the kids. My brother actually works from home just for this reason.
3)They should be able to serve in the armed forces. Not to keen on women being drafted...a lot of young women are mothers.
4)Chivalry/Kindness: I don't care if I open a door for a man, or if he opens it for me.
5)But I draw the line on the public bathrooms, I want a door on my stall!!!!

This one is loaded with landmines, but here goes:

Women should not be drafted, or in combat because they are a distraction and are specifically targeted for heinous abuse if captured.

Women should be paid equally for the same work. If at all possible they should take care of their kids and home while the kids are younger than school-age, and maybe contribute in part to the household wages if there are not small ones at home. But, many families are happy and healthy with working moms. I do not feel that the mother should be expected to support the children unless she wants to or the man cannot make ends meet on his own. Child care is cost-prohibitive for so many. All the money the mother makes is eaten up in child care in many cases.

I don't feel entitled, but I DO enjoy it when a man opens the door or does physical things for me that I cannot do. Men enjoy doing these things and feeling manly, or they do not do it. Please don't push in my chair, but it is nice when you pull it out. I prefer it when men take off your hat/sunglasses if inside.

I think men who are low earners should be able to cut themselves a break and still date as long as their girl likes going dutch.

I think women should be treated equally.
And yes even in the military. Men open doors for women because they are trying to impress them, just like women try to impress men.....it equals out hahaha

yes, women should be treated just like men in every way - given the same opportunities and all that - but i still say a man should open the door or push in a chair for a lady. just because they should be treated equally doesn't mean you shouldn't be a gentleman.

OH BOY Have I missed you!!!!!!!
Showing respect and being chivalrous are completely separate and different than being treated as an equal.
And there is no draft in America. Women are joining up just as much as men. BTW Have you ever heard the phrase " house husband???" Stay at home dads while the MOMS go out and bring home the BACON!

And there are still us single moms who do both! ( take care of the home and work)

Try housework sometime....

I don't know. Maybe we should. But then again if both men and women have the chance to be drafted what would happen if they had kids? I think it would be great if women had that same right .but if she had kids and she got drafted who would take care of them if anything happened to her?

Well...considering that women give BIRTH and every 2 MINUTES another woman is sexually assaulted by a MAN and we had to WIN the rights we have now, I think men can handle continuing to open doors.
