If you are American, you're best little known fact would be the thousands of high level balloons carrying bombs launch by the Japanese at the US mainland. These balloons caused the death of Americans in only one instance. A reverend and his family on vacation in the pacific northwest were killed when the children were playing with the mine/explosive left by a balloon that reached the US. Also, Japanese gunships fired rounds into the California coast but I do not believe any deaths occurred.
You may also be interested in the fact that several German spies set foot in the US with a cache of explosives. They were apprehended shortly after their arrival in the US.
The Germans were trying to develop aircraft which could reach the United States and bomb New York City. They developed the single wing aircraft (basically in the shape of our current stealth bomber) for such long bombing raids but they never took place.
Some of the German technological advances that effect our daily lives are incredible like the development of the first real maneuverable jet planes and the autobahn which is the basis and inspiration for American interstate highways.
There are plenty more facts you can find out about that may not be common knowledge like the two iwo jima flag raisings, the desire for many german generals to join the allies and fight the russians, eisenhower's balance of forces and their successes between the allies to spread the credit of victory, and that Hitler was in advanced stages of Parkinson's disease by the end of the war

Here are a few:
The Allies knew that the holocaust was occurring due to the British cracking the German codes and were unable to help. If they did then the Germans would know their codes had been cracked.
Denmark was the only occupied country to keep its parliamentary democracy system.
Hitler lead a charmed life surviving three assassination attempts. The first was a bomb planted on a plane which did not go off, no-one knows why, the second one he left his function 10 minutes earlier than expected and the third the table in his operations room saved his life.
Germany attempted to cripple the British economy by dropping fake British bank notes
The invasion of Britain would have used canal boats taken from Holland
The Royal Navy destroyed large numbers of the French fleet after the fall of France to prevent the French fleet falling in German hands.
In the event of invasion the church bells had to be rung around England
An attempt to assassinate Hitler by the British was scrapped as it was decided that the successor to Hitler might be more tactically adept

The Japanese at a crossroads during the war opted to go biological as oppossed to nuclear in their quest for newer WMD. Towards the end they developed a type of air ballon that would drop clay-type vessels that contained thousands of fleas infected with the bubonic plague. They would be launched from small planes that were loaded upon experimential submarines. The order was given in the last few weeks of the war to launch this attack on the western U.S. , however Imperial Naval Commanders refused, instead attempting to pull all of their naval resources towards the defense of mainland Japan.

Well, what is it exactly you want to know? There are many, many bizarre and even funny stories about WW II.
It has been said, for one thing, that the allies spent more money on cigarettes for their soldiers than they did on bullets.
Or how about the 'British Free Corps', an SS unit made up of Britons? And yes, they were even a few Americans fighting on the side of the Nazi's as well (google 'Monti' for instance, this guy went AWOL in India (!) made his way to Italy, stole an airplane and eventually ended up in the SS standarte 'Kurt Eggers'. A
And of couse, there's the mysterious flight of deputy Führer Rudolf Hess to England during WWII and his suicide/murder in Spandau prison in 1988.
And then there's this lucky pilot who got shot down over the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge, his parachute failed but he landed in a snow-covered tree and he was unharmed. He shortly after became a POW, but I guess he didn't really care :) And as for the USAAF: quite a few airmen got killed during a mission because of farting (on that height 'gas' expands massively...).
The first US casualty of WWII was either a sailor in China (on a gunboat that got attacked by a Japanese airplane) or a pilot in Finland during the Winter War (opinions differ). In either case, both were killed in 1939/1940.
And how about the Japanese attacks on the USA? Forget Pearl Harbour (or, well, maybe you shouldn't) but they actually attacked the mainland as well. An airplane (launched from a sub) dropped some firebombs on a forest in Oregon and the Japanese also launched several hunderd balloon with bombs which, using jetstream, ended up in America (as the post above says). And of course, the Japs did occupy a few Aleutian islands (Alaska, part of the US) like Kiska. They were kicked out again of course. On one island there were several soldiers killed during the counterattack. It could have been worse if there had been any Japanese (they had already withdrawn - all the deaths were caused by friendly fire). And as for the Japanese: one stubborn (or very ignorant) soldier (Onoda) who was stuck in the jungle, only surrendered in 1974 - 29 years after the war ended.
And of course the US was very pragmatic: the guy who masterminded the V1 & V2 rockets, Werner Von Braun, ended up in the States, where he eventually helped (and in no small part) to put Neil Armstrong on the moon. Many of his former fellow-scientists were similarily employed. After the war, the US also used quite a few former SS, Gestapo and Wehrmacht officers (Gehlen for instance) in their anti-communist network (of course, those people had the knowledge and the experience and the US conveniently forgot about their dubious past). Old friends can become new enemies (and vice versa).
The acronym for the US Navy in the Pacific was CINCUS ; after Pearl Harbour it was realised that this was pronounced as 'sink us' and the name was quickly changed. And American infantry division used the swastika as their emblem. This as well, was of course changed. The name of Hitlers' personal train, however, was never changed. It was called 'Amerika'. By the way, the only country Germany ever officially declared war on was -yep- America. They simply attacked everyone else without any diplomatic niceties.
You want more where that came from?
PS: as for the Autobahn mentioned in the post above: that's in fact not true. The German who was responsible for the Autobahn project (Todt) actaully 'borrowed' the idea from Roosevelt's public works programme (which included highways) while on a trip to the States.

At the Nuremburg Tribunals, the prosecutors presented copies of bills of lading from the pharmaceutical conglomerate, I.G. Farben, showing 4 1/2 tons of Zyclon-B being delivered to the SS at the death camps PER MONTH. The directors of the firm were squirming on the stand trying to answer the prosecutors questions.........

Hitler was extremely flatulence....im not kidding too, its actually well documented.
ok but anywho heres some facts i can think off of the top of my head.
everyone knows that there was alot of technological changes in World War II, especially with nuclear bombs, ballistic missiles, better piston engines, but the invention that actually gave the Allied powers the advantage was the invention of Radar.
the Japaneses never were put on trial for war crimes for the massacre of over 10,000,000 just in china alone. (3,000,000 for Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos)
World War II was the first war that civilians were actually targeted on purpose for the reason of strategic value (blowing up factories and all the workers for the factories)
