It's true some americans are arrogant, but if you think "high growth" = "good economy" you're an idiot.
China has a long way before they have a really good economy. If the US would stop buying chinese crap, the chinese economy would feel a major dent.
People investing in China are also stupid because their government could turn around anytime and nationalize all the capital. That's what happened in the 40s in my country of origin. People came, invested, brought their money from the US and started businesses, and then the communists took it all away.

China is booming! The more economic growth the better. Helps all over the world. Our arrogance is not dependent on being the biggest or the best. When India and China surpass us, the world will resent them more than us and call them arrogant. And, forget about us, and I can't Wait for that to happen!

And we will remain arrogant! Hey, then we'll be more like France. A hope and wish of liberal Americans will come true.

We (americans) are spending 10 times more on our military than the Chinese. The United States is also the leading nation in technology. If this green energy fans out we might also be a leading producer of energy once again. China is becoming industralized and is reaching resource crunches such as water, oil etc. They are not a very hospitable place to live in their cities and a lot of investment is being spurred by our economy. We still have the highest capita per person in the world.

China is poised to become the new world leader economically. Their economy is booming, they're building, and they're growing in leaps and bounds. A new wealthy social class has been emerging for a while now, encouraged by a govt who has adopted the rather uncommunistic philosophy that for an individual to become rich is glorious. Still lots of poverty, and even with the (very misunderstood by Westerners) one child policy the population is growing exponentially, little to no concern for environmental care that will come back to bite them in the a**, but I think we're looking at a major player that we need to stay on real good terms with. If China ever wanted to boycot the US and close trade, we'd be sunk in a hurry.

positive, i'm, fascinated in it. the U. S. has a larger protection funds than that of another u . s . a . in the international blended and it would want to be fantastic if China might want to %. up quite some the tab. per chance they could take over conserving Canada for us. they don't seem to be quite a huge gamble for the reason that they foolishly bought many of the U. S. that they are literally depending on our monetary prosperity. Bwwwaaa-hahahahaha (rubs hands at the same time fiendishly).

Yes, it probably is true, thanks to Wal-Mart! Liberals declaring China "most favored country" status for trade didn't help the U.S. any, either. Anybody can be arrogant. Americans don't need to be because we ARE the best country in the world. And that ain't bragging, it's a proven fact.
I do hope the Chinese people can take the initiative to crush their communist govt. and be truly free.

Not sure if it was the highest (depends on which parameters you use) but it's right up there.

It is definitely true that the country with the highest foreign currency reserves is.....

China!

The West ignores China at its peril.
The world balance of (economic) power is shifting.

Meanwhile, back in little ol' Iraq...
