Oh boy! Do I know how you feel. I was forced to be put on bed rest these past few weeks because of my blood pressure and I can tell you that rest is your best answer. You need to get 15-20 minute catnaps if possible. Depending on what part of your pregnancy you are in, your energy level will fluctuate. I'm 35 weeks right now, and just in the past few days I've had a boost of energy. I guess that's because I'm what they call "nesting". Prior to that, I was dragging so bad. Also, the baby moved off my sciatic nerve too. It helped out alot. But during the beginning of my pregnancy the only thing that helped was little catnaps during the day.

Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and get some exercise like walking everyday. Take your prenatals and take it easy. It's inevitable that you'll be tired throughout your pregnancy. No way around it. Hope this helps.

Sleep whenever possible. Since you're avoiding caffeine (I assume), it's hard to find something to give you a pick me up. Always remember to take your vitamins everyday, as the baby is leeching nutrients from you, and you need all you can get! Lots of green leafy vegetables, high in iron, will help build up your red blood cell count and can help battle fatigue. But the bottom line is, you're going to find yourself more tired than normal, and it's just something that comes with pregnancy. Get yourself a body pillow that will take the weight of your stomach off your back when you sleep. You have to take it with you when you change sides, making you feel a bit like an alligator wrestler, but it does help you feel more rested in the morning. Hope this helps!

the worst fatigue you will feel during pregnancy is during the first trimester and then at the end. There isn't much you can do, but stay hydrated. It is easy to become dehydrated during pregnancy which can make you even more tired feeling. Drinking a lot of water is very good for you, and no it does not cause swelling.

Think about what things or thoughts are the culprits that cause you to get stressed out or worried. Then try to replace thinking on those things with thinking on the positive in your life. You gotta let the small stuff go. Make it a priority to schedule some "me" time to rest and during that time dwell on the things in your life that are worth giving thanks for, things that make you smile. Thinking on the positive has a way of refreshing the mind and mood! Don't stress over leaving some things undone at the end of the day. You and your precious little bundle are so worth it. My very best to you.

SLEEP! Also try to take breaks during the day. During my first trimester I was exhausted ALL the time. I had to cut back on a lot of things I used to do but it didn't matter because I knew I had to take care of my baby and my body first. The second trimester is much better. I'm tired at times, but it's not the same exhaustion.

Naps help and though you have to avoid caffeine, try an apple for a quick pick me up. The natural sugars give a brief energy boost and the vitamins are great for baby and help replenish you!
If you don't like apples, many other fruits have similar benefits, though none seem to work as well as apples.

Eat healthy foods, stay away from sugar (that can make you crash), and take naps!
