Cause she's your mother! She's supported you since infancy & now you have a chance to show her her appreciation (in a visible-sort-of-way)!

Before you buy a diamond for anyone, maybe go watch the movie Blood Diamonds!

I doubt your mom wants to wear blood on her hands.

Get her something else!
