They need to focus on the luxuries they do have. In many countries, for example, there is no school for girls and older children. It is a luxury America takes for granted. People need to stop and appreciate the world they live in and look at what they do have instead of what they don't.

The only cure that I can think of is time. Most of the time people think that they truly need something, but after time passes and they don't recieve that item, they soon realize that it is unneeded.

Think about all the problems that may come with the thing. For example, if you really wanted fame think about all the celebrities who lose their privacy and are constantly subject to public scrutiny.

think it through and decide that they can have something fulfilling within their reach....example:People love money so much they wish for all the expensive stuff in the world. a way to get past that is realize name isn't worth bankrupcy and to save or buy what their income allows. there's seasonal sales!
