In a speach Bush said he wanted Iran and Syria to close off their borders so insurgents could no longer cross into Iraq. Since the US is far more technologically advanced than any of these countries how can they expect them to do something the US can't.

USA with a rich economy cannot effectively watch over its borders to free it from terrorism. Thus, Iran and Syria with deserts and mountains on its borders cannot secure their borders from intruders.

The National-Union feels Iran and Syria are Iraq's neighbors, not ours, and their countries share similar beliefs about religion and government which means more tolerance to create stable peace. The National-Union feels in order for us to secure our borders, we must repair Iraq internally and in foreign relations to destroy extremists' motto that the US is an aggressor then we'll be able to build up our reputation so foreigners will look at our culture differently as universal. Further, we must use the principle of opportunity towards foreign nations, so under-developed nations will create the atmosphere of democracy for their citizens maintain loyalty to their government, http://www.voteprimous.com

It's not a question of securing their borders. They are sending men & arms across the borders.

Easy answer to that one. The reason the U.S. might possibly actually be able to attain that goal is because instead of using our troops to protect OUR OWN border they are being deployed to protect other Countries!

Go Figure! You can always count on BUSH!

I don't think the U.S. expects ANYTHING out of either of those countries.....

Seriously, they are our opposition, can we really hold both of these anti-West countries to a promise?
