Oh I love Milo and Otis! Anyway, the bad gift for me was when I was in college. I only wore black so after years of receiving teal and hot pink clothes and never wearing them, I received a black shirt! Only the black shirt had a hand painted woman on the front with real feathers coming out of it where her hat was and fake jewels as her fingernails. It went back in the box and straight to The Salvation Army.

The one that stands out is a cheesy little cheap ceramic bowl from the 60's. My friend's parents re-gifted it to me. I pretended to be thankful but I sold it at a garage sale for a quarter.

A few years ago my husband got me a few Craptacular gifts for my b-day.. he got me an edited version of a cd i wanted, a rock fountain in the wrong color so it went with nothing in our home and he got me flowers from a florist that died like the next day. It wasnt his fault... he tried (florists shouldnt be allowed to take advantage of unknowing men)

I'd totally forgotten about it, but my husband just reminded me the other night that he once gave me a clothes iron for my birthday (or was it Christmas?). The even stupider part was I already had at least one.

My step mother used to do all her Christmas shopping out of the really, really, really crappy catalogs. Once we all got water-sole inserts for our shoes. There were worse things, but I've blocked them out.

for me it was a new dictionary....it would have been fine if it were just a normal one with just words in it and thats it right? but no my parents had to get a little podium for it and every time i look at that thing all I can think of is an alter built to worship a dictionary or giving a dictionary to god or something

makes me want to cry
*turns head and crys*

I was a sophomore or junior in HS in the '80s. Docksiders were in for the guys. My parents bought me a pair of dark blue docksiders...and I'm a girl!

My mother, God bless her, uses special occasions to clean out her storage and get rid of things she doesn't want any more. I think my least-favorite things were the broken, chewed up wicker baskets and the dusty, moldy, dried flower arrangements. She was trying to be thoughtful because she knows I like those things, but the condition of them really left me cold.
