Apocalypto is not a Mayan word - it is a play on the very Euro-Asian word Apocalypse.

It's not a Mayan word. I think he stuck a Spanish-sounding ending (or used the Spanish form of the word) on Apocalypse, which is the violent end of the world.

Absolutely! Anything with Clint Eastwood ia always worth seeing. Gran Torino is very good & exciting. It is all that a Clint Eastwood movie should be. It one of his best. Have a great afternoon!
