Well you do need to bring your grades up to get into a decent college and study such a field. However, not all colleges have dorms and it is always dependent on the school itself whether or not it has dorms/student housing. It sometimes depends on the city it is in too.
For instance, if the city is pretty big and has lots of housing at reasonable prices, you may find the school doesn't have dorms since there is plenty of places to live and relatively close. Now if you are in a more sparse area of town and the city is not very big to begin with, sometimes the school is pressured to have student dorms on campus so that students can get to and from school much easier.
But overall it really depends on the school. So no not all 4 year colleges have dorms and some 2 year schools have them. Just depends.
Good luck with the classes.

I've never heard of any junior/community colleges that offer dorms, but most university and 4-year colleges do.
Frankly, with a 2.3 GPA, you'll be lucky to get into any college, especially if you're only looking for a "party school."
Try to work on raising your grades, then go to a community college for a few years before transferring to the more rigorous atmosphere of a 4-year college. Even if you don't live in the dorms or attend a school, you can always share a room at on off-campus apartment or fraternity to sample the party lifestyle.

I'm sorry to tell you that a 2.3 GPA won't get you very far in the university. In a society where high school students are taking college classes and earning above a 4.0 GPA, there is way too much competition out there. If all your looking for is the party, college/university is way too expensive for that as well.
Yes, a university is the only place where you can live in a dorm. Community college doesn't have dorms. I think you need to get your priorities in order first though.

lol .. Well you have to do well that is true.. Many universities (some community college like in albion michigan) have dorms.. My best suggestion is you get 3.0 that may help you to find some party college.. If you have some volunteer type thing it may help getting into some decent college. However tuition is a whole different thing.. If you have the dough you are good to go .. Community colleges mostly have older people studying and not much party scene.. You should stick with universities for that..

stay in the dorms for a 12 months or 2, then get an house. living in the dorms is an greater handy transition to living removed from homestead. you have not have been given your mum and dad looking over your shoulder, yet you do not could agonize approximately month-to-month expenses or nutrients. yet ultimately getting an house greater useful prepares you for what your lifestyles would be like after college.

Well, colleges accept really smart people, so you have to get good grades. Most usually look for straight A students, but those are the top colleges. Regular colleges I guess would accept B's, too. And I would think you would need to go to a 4 year college to get a dorm. It would certainly look better on any job application if you went to college for four years or more. Hope I helped.

No, most state schools are relatively easy to get into, and they are still respectable colleges to go to. They usually have dorms and a party life, but it depends on the school.
