I need to retro-fit a cooler and a reach-in commercial freezer. Genetron offers several different retro-fit refrigerants but which is the most appropriate? What other factors should I investigate before making a decision?

It is illegal to work on refrigeration sealed systems without an EPA license. If you had the license you would not be asking this question. There are many alternate refrigerants on the market. Some of them are referred to as "drop in" refrigerants that are compatible with the system and oil without changes to the system. Depending on the system these refrigerants may be a direct replacement but under some circumstances they do not work or work but not as well and in some instances actually work better.

Genetron is not the only chemical company that has alternative refrigerants that can be used.
