no one should deserve a place unless they are performing, hence why the australian cricket team is doing so well, the selectors choose people who are performing.
I am not sure how sachin is doing of late but in either case he should have to perform to be in the team.

Sachin deserves a place even in the world team. When we talk about him like this we only show how little we know about the game of cricket. Sachin is one of the all time greats in the history of cricket.

Media cooly avoided about sachin. 3rd test in SA we lost because of sachin since he was fit enough. The wall and Prince were doing good job. Once Price gone, Wall has to slow down due to Sachin not being fit enough and this has resulted in losing the momentum once build. Hence, my opinion,Sachin should take retirement gracefully like Warne, etc'

Logical view says Sachin should be treated as same as Shewag. Why and What are the reasons Sehwag is not in the team.The same rule should be applicable to all players. Sachin is not exception,at all. His recent match performances are not good. He should be rested for few matches.
Indian cricket board dominated and influenced by west zone selectors and players like Gavsakar etc.Sourav's return proved someone exit, instead of any west zone players like sachin,ajit agarkar,powar,etc. selectors opted north zone player sehwag. No doubt sehwag was running out of form, Is sachin or agarkar are in form players ?

Ofcourse. He is the worlds greatest batsman. He has scored more runs than anyone in the world cup. Last time he was the MVP. Even in the SA tour he scored the higest numbers of runs.
He is the ONLY hope India has to make it to the final of the world cup.

He is past his prime.
He can score if he has a good day but how everyone in the indian side is doing it wouldnt matter if he had a spot or not.
