I tried to update it to new software or w/e and now its saying its corrupt. It took all the files off of my iPod and it wont let me put the songs back. Everytime i plug it in it says that it is corrupt. What can i do to fix this? (before i go to the Apple store)

A corrupted iPod is not a good thing. That means that you did something to your hard drive that really hurt it. I guess you have to take it back to Apple and get a new guts for the thing. But first try the 5 R's

1. Reset (flick the hold switch on and off, then press the menu and select buttons simultaneously, and hold them down until the Apple logo appears: about 6 seconds)

2. Retry with a different USB or FireWire port.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Reinstall iTunes and iPod software

5. Restore iPod (open iPod software and select restore, when your iPod is plugged in)
