That if Bush had not invaded Iraq, put more troops in Afghanistan, we would be really liked. Most people felt bad for us after 9/11. It was the first time when most countries wanted to help us. We ruined that respect when we entered Iraq two years later. I have talked to many people from other countries, and every one of them says the same thing; Iraq ruined your reputation over here. Bush's approval rating was in the 80's before Iraq, and had he not gone in Iraq, he would not be causing as much controversey, and he would be an average President.
How can we get our reputation back from this disaster?

The only act that would regain our reputation in the world community would be the Impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. If we repudiated this administration and its violent play for Dominion over the Middle East with Impeachment, it would show the world without a doubt we do not support their agenda. If we are wishy washy about it, it will show we give tacit support for this because we agree with the agenda, though are squeamish about the tactics. If we are not clear, there is no reason to expect anyone else to be clear about us.

The current negative Worldwide attitude towards America stems from virilent Anti-Sematism, for the issue is not so much that we are defending ourselves, but that what we are doing will ultimately benefit Israel, and there's the rub.
Anti-Semetism is alive and well throughout the World and among the halls of the UN.
Yes, the World was content to see, and help America exact vengence on the specific terrorist organization which pulled off 9-11, yet once we extended our mission to spread some type of Democracy throughout the Middle East in order to stave off future recruitment of terrorists. The Anti-Semite Community quickly saw how this would benefit Israel and that is unacceptable to the "Fourth Reich."

Bush can admit he was wrong and ask for the world's help to restore Iraq. This will never happen though, because Bush will never admit he was wrong.

I hope that they're frustrated with the man and the administration and not real Americans. If it's the latter, we're in for "a long, hard slog," to gain back any respect in the world. And it will have a negative effect on our economy.

No reason to disagree with the question of the Asker. Plain and simple truth - Bush blundered it - he had to - he needed those oil fields for America!
25 years from today, people will think of Bush differently assuming the moral decay continues.

we should have left iraq alone. it was a world problem, not a US one. they way to fix our reputation is to show that the US is capable of diplomacy.
